A Resident of Thane/Mumbai – Ramesh Guruswamy leads a very simple, humble and devoted life with high spiritual values. His first Kannai Mala was at the tender age of 5 under the guidance of the Guruswamy “Docha Mama” and naturally he dedicated his life to Lord Ayyappa. He has followed his Guruswamy Docha Mama’s footsteps ever since.
Ramesh Guruswamy performs poojas at his house every day during the Brahma Muhurtha considered as the most auspicious time from 4 am onwards. For the majority of people known and associated with him; his residence is a temple of worship with the benign presence of the Lord.
Ramesh Guruswamy leads devotees to Sabarimala every year and his Group is popularly known as the Thane Ayyappa Group. The age group of the pilgrims ranges from 8 to 85 years, and encompasses, students, teenagers, working professionals and senior citizens. Once while on one of these pilgrimages to Sabarimala, Guruswamy got disturbed with the plight of the poor and needy people in India and casually proposed the idea of forming a Trust to help them. The idea was readily accepted by all the devotees and Vedant Ayyappan Trust was formed.
The Turst’s name originates from the place where Ramesh Guruswamy resides and a group of likeminded professionals who are senior executives in different fields manage it. They aspire to follow their Guruswamy’s ideals and have the determination to pursue and fulfill his dreams. The inspiration is drawn out of our former President of India Sri A P J Abdul Kalam who believes, dream is not what you see in sleep, but is the thing which will not let you sleep.
At the age of 58, Guruswamy has changed lives of several individuals both young and old by imbibing good life making qualities of devotion, dedication and discipline and time management. A significant number of people have learnt the skills of time management from the way he manages the Poojas, Bhajans and Satsangs, thus helping them in their personal and professional life also. He believes that Service to Humanity Service to the Lord.
Ramesh Guruswamy is employed with the giant Public Sector Organization Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, where he has put his dedicated services exceeding three decades.
